How to get to Moravský Krumlov?

By car

When making your way to the Slav Epic from Bohemia by car, we recommend taking D1 Motorway in the direction of Brno (exit 182 – Kývalka) and continue via Tetčice, Neslovice and Ivančice to Moravský Krumlov. You can follow the same route on your way from Brno taking D1 Motorway but in the opposite direction. From Exit 182 – Kývalka, the route is the same.

Parking in the city is possible in several parking lots. We recommend parking your vehicle in the new car park in Palackého Street, which is a 5-minute walk from the castle. Alternatively, you can use the parking lot at the castle or on TG Masaryk Square.

By train

Moravský Krumlov lies on line 244 between Brno and Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou-Šanov. Trains from Brno leave about every hour. The tracks are currently being reconstructed so there is a bus replacement being provided. Train connections can be found on

The railway station is located about 3 kilometers from the castle and to get closer to the city you can use the bus connection or simply follow a hiking path marked with red tourist symbols. Along the way, you can enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the city from the chapel of the saint Florian.

By bus

A number of lines of the Integrated Transport System of the South Moravian Region run to Moravský Krumlov. The best transport connections can be found here .

By bike

There are a number of marked cycling paths around Moravský Krumlov. You can thus plan your cycling trip in the area before or after you visit the Slav Epic.

Cars can be parked in several places in the city. We recommend parking your car in the new car park in Palackého Street, which is a 5-minute walk from the castle.

Alternatively, it is possible to use the car park in Zámecká Street or on TG Masaryk Square.

We advise bus drivers to stop at Zámecká 1, drop off visitors and leave the bus at the bus station in U Mostu Street.

Unfortunately, the exhibition is not barrier-free at the moment. We are doing our best to fix that.

Bicycle stands and “charging stations” for e-bikes are located on the castle premises.
